Matches so far for the Bonnington theatre,
Yell Darb The Viking Vs T J Flame( The Murderers)
With Mage suffering a shoulder injury The sneaky T J Flame is forced to go it alone vs SLAM's largest superstar, The 6"6', 310lb giant norse warrior Yell Darb. The Murderers have always been a problem for the huge fan favourite. The Murderers seem to have a chip on their shoulder about being classed as cruiserweights in SLAM and seem to have taken it apon themselves to chop the big man down to size by any means. This has led to many two on one beatdowns since Yell Darbs one man invasion crashed onto british shores. At last Yell will have the chance to make T J pay for his past crimes against him.
Black Ice Vs Jorge Castano
As a member of The Faction Jorge and his manager have been causing mayhem in SLAM over the past year's. Jorge although happy to cheat is without a doubt one of SLAM's most gifted highflying superstars. His opponent is the great local favourite Black Ice who recently had his hair shaved off in a looser looses his hair match in Boston against Stixx even though he won! The once happy go lucky superstar now seems to have realised that the bad guys at SLAM can never be taken lightly and has promised to bring his game face to The Bonnington theatre on Oct 2nd. "I'll never stoop to the lows those guys will but you will see less dancing and more slamming for sure. Jorge won't know what hit him" said the charasmatic young star.
10/09/09
SLAM will make It's main show debut in Nottingham at the Bonnington theatre on Oct 2nd. For fans of the free academy shows which are held in Nottingham it's a great chance to see how some of their much loved home grown hero's will fair against some of the top wrestlers from around the world.

The UK's Largest Training Weekend comes to Nottingham in September
On Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th September at the Sport Nottingham Leisure complex (west stand of the Notts county football ground) in Nottingham, SLAM wrestling will present the largest wrestling training weekend in the UK, named Academania.
Each day, 4 two hour seminars will accure through the day, but the twist is, 7 will be going on at the same time, with each one concentrating on a particular style of wrestling. Thats 28 seminars a day.
13 of the top wrestlers from around the country and some from abroad will be on hand on both days to teach on the following styles.
Technical wrestling
High Flying
Power moves and Strikes
Selling and positioning
Story telling and psychology (spelling?)
Entertainment and character work
Promo's
Every two hours the groups and the teachers will change giving you the opportunity to either go to a different room to learn a different style or to stay in the same place and learn more about a particular style from different teachers.
For example, if you are a cruiserweight and you want to spend all Saturday flying around, then you can and you get 4 different sets of teachers to teach you different ways of doing so. The same applies if you want to work on your mat wrestling or promo's.
The facilities on hand on the weekend will be:-
- 3 Full size wrestling rings (20ft / 18ft / 16ft)
- Matted Dojo + Matted Area
- Promo and Psychology Rooms
- Fully equipped gym
The great thing about this weekend is that you can cater your training to what you feel will benefit you the most. If you feel that you're lacking in a certain department, then you can concentrate on that. If you're a fan of a particular person's style you can follow them around (stalk) them for the weekend or if you just want to work on your all round game, you can do that too.
If that wasn't enough then on the Saturday night there will be a show as part of the evenings entertainment involving all of the teachers from the weekend.
The cost of the weekend is £150, but day tickets are avaliable on request.
THERE ARE LIMITED PLACES ON THIS WEEKEND so to book your place with a £50 deposit, contact us now.
Everyone is welcome from first time beginners to advanced wrestlers who want more training, we can guarantee that this weekend will be a great learning experience for everyone.

Those early birds among you may have noticed SLAM coaches Ashe and Jonny Storm helping GMTV presenter to "learn the ropes" in a GMTV segment to promote the new Mickey Rourke film "The Wrestler". Unfortunatley his debut match was against SLAM's largest superstar, Yell Darb The Viking. Richard decided discretion was the better part of valour and high tailed it out of our training centre at Letchworth before a single blow could be landed. Well done to everyone involved and a huge thankyou to the GMTV team and Richard who where great sports through the whole shoot.
11/01/2009
Happy new year everyone!

With them we would like to welcome Luke Smith and Len Davies to the team. As the mastermind behind the RQW brand of wrestling and reguarded as the best production man in the business, Len's skills will be a huge assett to any promotion he works alongside.

THE CHAMPIONSHIP ERA HAS BEGUN!!!
After cementing its spot as one of the UK's fastest growing and exciting british wrestling companies this past Saturday in Tamworth, SLAM wrestling have announced that it is time to crown its king.
A HUGE 16 man tournament will take place over the upcoming shows with one purpose in mind, to crown the first ever SLAM champion. Every wrestler on the roster wanted to be part of the tournament but after looking at the win/loss records, the 16 wrestlers have been chosen.
"The Misfit" Jorge Castano, "The Australian Superstar" Casey Hanson, Eamon O'Neil, James Tighe, "The Heavyweight House of Pain" Stixx, Andy Boy Simmonz, "The Wonderkid" Johnny Storm, Chip Durant, The Headmaster, "The Playboy" Phil Bedwell, "The Bombay Dream" Ross Jordan, Yel Darb the Viking, Shabazz, Judas, Cypher and Tommy Freeman have all been entered into the tournament.
Who each man will face in the first round is being kept under lock and key until nearly the time, but i think its safe to say with a line up like that anyone could win and each man will have to fight with everything he has to come out on top in the end.
IN OTHER NEWS:-
Wrestlers were ducking for cover on Saturday as the massive Judas and Yel Darb the Viking came crashing through the backstage area. Both were counted out of the 8 man elimination match at Tamworth but it took nearly every other member of the SLAM roster to seperate the two monsters backstage after they had caused considerable damaged to the backstage area. SLAM is very much looking forward to putting these two in a one on one match to settle their differences and after this past weekend both men will no doubt be wanting to prove who the big dog in SLAM really is.
SLAM would like to welcome Project X, Black Ice and Tommy Freeman to the team. Although only Freeman was successful in his match at Tamworth by defeating Abdullah Quadir, all three put in top class efforts and made a huge impression with management.
It seems that Stephanie Scope has turned her back on her fans, perhaps our of frustration of being on a losing streak. Whatever the reason she has teamed up with "the Heavyweight House of Pain" Stixx and it seems Stixx is taking a mentor role after being kicked to the curb by his last protege Paul Malen. The change was very evident in her style and mannerisms on Saturday when she finally defeated her long time rival Jetta, but this rivalry is FAR from over.

Jetta vs Stephanie Scope Stephanie is a hugely respected wrestler in the UK and is a great addition to SLAMs womans division. unfortunately she couldn't have chosen a more difficult opponent for her SLAM debut. Coming fresh from a victory over the highly skilled Skye, Jetta is sure to try to continue her winning streak by any means.
